Mark Evison Foundation – killed in Afghanistan, saving his platoon
If you watched Newsnight last night (13th July 09) or read the Daily Telegraph today, then you will have come across the story and the diary of Lt Mark Evison. He was a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan on 9th May, and he was a good chum.
His mother has published his diary and it makes for brilliant reading – both entertaining and sobering. However, the reason I am writing to you today, is to ask that you help sponsor a good friend of Mark’s to raise money for the Mark Evison Foundation – a trust that has been set up by his family and friends, to help promote achievement in young people today.
Mark was nicknamed the ’007′ of his Platoon and was regarded in the highest respect by his soldiers. In fact, he died protecting them.
