I think it was all summed up yesterday when, in the Daily Mail, Lily Cole was pictured at Cambridge straddling a vintage Dutch style bicycle. Not that she needs any help - but didn’t she look great!

Cult designer label, Chanel, recently introduced onto the market a ladies Dutch bike for £6000.00 - i think that says it all.

We sell both gents and ladies Classic Dutch Bicycles and the good news is that they cost a little less - between £140 and £180. I have to tell you that it is the women’s which sell the most. In fact, they outsell the men’s at a rate of 5:1. No wonder Chanel have tried putting such a high price tag on them. Sales of these stunning bikes have rocketed and i can only begin to imagine what is going to happen to sales over Christmas!

• A smaller, lighter 20″ frame, with 26″ wheels (a great size to suit all heights)

We learnt today that our Classic Dutch Style bikes (£165 delivered) have been mentioned in the Daily Mail’s ‘Thisismoney’ newsletter. This is of course very pleasing, but what pleases me the most is that the author has clearly understood the ‘why‘ of who, where and why we exist - we are here to make cycling affordable. We have bicycles for people who either a) cannot afford a bike or b) simply do not want to spend upwards of £500. Our bikes are simple, traditional, ecomonical and represent good value for money. While we do not pretend that they carry Pashley quality, they are beautiful, fun and they have been extremely popular.
