DECAID – an appeal worth knowing about

Friday, March 11th, 2011

First off, this article is completely unrelated to bicycles. Instead it is about DECAID – a national appeal that Capital Cycles is supporting, set up with three main aims:

Firstly, to increase awareness, particularly among younger members of the UK population, of the work and involvement of the Armed Forces in Afghanistan. Secondly, to remember those brave men and women of our Armed forces who have lost their lives serving in Afghanistan. Thirdly, to raise over £350,000 for three service charities which work to help current and ex-servicemen and women, and their families, who have been affected by the war in Afghanistan.

They are undergoing some of the most remarkable feats, in order to raise money for three incredible charities: SSAFA, BLESMA and Talking2minds.

To learn more about their work, the charities they are raising money for and the projects they are undertaking in order to get donations, please click here and give whatever you can: http://www.decaid.co.uk/

Limited edition Pink Bicycles – Supporting Breast Cancer Care

Friday, August 21st, 2009

At present, we currently support two very important charities – Diabetes UK and Breast Cancer Care. Well, I say ‘we’ but really I mean ‘you’. £1 from every sale we make goes directly to these charities and last quarter alone that turned out to be almost £200.00!! THANK YOU.

*NEW* LIMITED EDITION PINK BIKES

However, we are now keen to see if we can do just a little bit more. So, we have teamed up with Breast Cancer Care and we have agreed to design and build a ‘super-limited’ batch of our iconic Modern Dutch bicycles – painted pink instead of green! It will be the same style and shape as our famous green ladies bicycle that you see at the moment, but the difference is that it will be the pinkest pink that pink can possibly be. With jet black mudguards and sexy sleek wheels, it will be the wish of every girl in town!

They are going to be part of a new Aluminium alloy Modern Dutch Range, arriving in November. These new bikes slightly lighter and will cost £199.95 delivered. Our Modern Dutch bikes currently available and in stock for immediate delivery are made from a lightweight steel instead of alloy and that is why they are  a slightly lower price – £189.95

These Breast Cancer Care bikes will cost £225.00  - £25.00 of which will be going directly to Breast Cancer Care.

If you want to pre-order one of these limited edition Modern Dutch Pink Bicycles now for delivry in NOVEMBER, please call us on 0845 303 8685 and we can arrange it. Only 20 of these pink bicycles are going to be built and they are already selling out, so if you like the idea, get on the phone…

Thanks,

£187 raised for Charity through sales – every sale = another donation

Monday, July 20th, 2009

As you may be aware, £1 from every bicycle sold through our website is given to two very important charities: Diabetes UK and Breast Cancer Care.

We are proud to announce that from last quarter’s sales, we have managed to raise £187.00, which will be split evenly between the two charities we support.

Remember, if you order a bicycle from us, you will also be doing your bit for Charity – thank you.

Capital Cycles to donate £1 from every bicycle sold to Charity

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

When you buy one of our bicycles, you are also doing your bit for Diabetes UK. The £1 donated from your order may not seem much, but it makes a great andpotentially life-saving difference.

2.5 million people suffer from diabetes across the UK. My girlfriend is a type 1, insulin dependent diabetic. She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 13 and in fact when admitted into hopsital was told that she only had one week to live.
Today, thanks to the advances in treatment and the support given by Diabetes UK, she leads a strong and active lifestyle. She even cycles 14.5 miles a day to and from work on a Capital Modern Dutch Ladies bike.

Your small donation may not be much by itself, but when added together this small sum becomes a large one and then thanks to you – people will benfit.

So, buy one of our Modern Dutch style bicycles and do not just yourself a great favour, but help someone else who needs your help as well.

Thank you.
