I am incredibly proud of everyone who has helped us thrive this year and also wish to thank every customer who has come through our online doors. We have sold over 800 bicycles this year to lovely customers and we have enjoyed every call and email we have taken.

Our little business is growing at a lovely, steady, organic rate and we have some wonderful plans for 2011. We are going to increase our range of Dutch and hybrid bicycles and we also hope to introduce an even more effective email response system. At present, we reply to every email within 2 working hours. Our aim next year is to reduce that to 60 minutes and even to have a live online chat option (as well as our direct phone line). When you buy a bicycle from Capital Cycles, we want you to feel as close as possible to us and the bicycle you want.

On top of this, we offer an unrivalled 2 year warranty on all bicycles and a simple, no quibble 7 day return or exchange policy on all bicycles. This year out of the 800 bicycles we sold, 5 were returned. That is approximately a 1000% lower return rate than the average internet purchase return rate. we are thrilled about this.

We are sometimes asked why our Dutch Style bicycles are more affordable than the others on the market. It is an important question too and our response is always the same. We may be affordable, but our bikes are certainly not ‘cheap’. Our customer testimonials back this up as well as all the independent bike shops who have seen our bikes and commented on their good quality. So, here are a few of the reasons why our prices are so great:

• We are an internet based business that operates with low overheads and extremely low daily running costs. This allows us to keep our prices lower
• Our bicycles are designed and built in Europe, meaning low international freight charges. This also means that they define the iconic ‘Dutch Bike’ concept whilst conforming to the highest EU standards
• We have kept away from the high costs of unnecessary and expensive features and we have focused instead on the essential components that a good bicycle needs, using only well known, high quality brands
• The founder started the company because he could not afford to buy an affordable bicycle which was any good. He saw the need for Capital Cycles, and in order to maintain his ambition of selling affordable and yet high quality bikes, he had to operate on a low profit margin

SIGNS OF QUALITY: We only use the best components that we can find. This is visible from the alloy v-brakes, double walled aluminium wheel rims, high quality tyres and Shimano grip-shift gear change system with high end Shimano internal hub and rear derailleur systems.
All bicycles are guaranteed for 2 years. This is twice as long as almost every other bicycle brand in the UK. Also, if you are not completely happy with your bicycle, you can return it (see returns policy).
